I am passionate about details.
For me, attention to detail in both design and fine craftsmanship is something that transforms things from mere objects to pieces of art.
I was always drawn to this kind of craftsmanship. Be it classic automobiles, fine guitars or for me, it's ultimate expression, mechanical watches.
Having studied industrial design in three countries and worked as a designer and an enterpreneur in a technology startup I chose to chase my true passion in watches. Having had watch collecting as a dear hobby for the last decade I took the next step and started my studies at the venerable Finnish School of Watchmaking.
My plan was to somehow combine my prior design knowledge and my newly learned watchmaking skills to be able to materialize my watch ideas. The prototype for my first watch model Katedraali was created during my studies.

Realizing a long time dream, I established Kupias watches and started accumulating metalworking machinery as well as watchmaking tools for my own workshop.
In summer 2022 me and Reima Koivukoski, a talented watchmaker from Finland established an Atelier in central Helsinki where we manufacture fine timepieces both under our own names.
I can proudly say that Kupias case parts, dials, hands and movement bridges are manufactured and finished in our own workshop in Helsinki.
All Kupias watches are assembled and tested by me. With this capability I offer a 2-year warranty for functionality and manufacturing defects for every Kupias watch.
